What an awesome day to be on the water. After waiting through all the cold, rain, and snow we finally had a nice weekend to take the boat out. I had some new lures I was eager to test out and see how they looked in the water. Me and my gf started out fishing for LMB with those new lures. We didn't have any luck with the bass. So we switched over to trout. The traffic on the lake was busy as there were several boats on the water. The bite started slow but quickly picked up. We were using berkley alive floating corn in red and yellow. That combination was getting the fish to bite. My gf caught 3 trout and had several other bites. The water temperature was 42 degrees. It felt great to finally get a line in the water. Can't wait for the next nice weekend.

I forgot to mention that there were downed trees that will create some structure for bass.

It was a beautiful day out. The water was so calm.

Spencer Lake has small & large mouth bass all over the lake bed area. During spring & summer while fishing the lake you will also see bass boats on the lake. Last years Spencer Bar & Grill tagged trout was never caught. Which was a toad, I'm sure if you catch the trout they will give you free Lunch or dinner. In the past when I didn't have a boat or have time to get boat ready. I would fish off SB&G dock. While sitting on the dock you have access to 25' deep water. Plus on your left side 100 yard out at the first point is the deepest area of the lake. When the lake slows down in summer head for that point and still fish. You will get your limit every time.
