I'd like to start the report by saying that in the last week I've met a couple washingtonlakers (or lurkers, not sure) on Fish Lake that haven't fished it before that said my reports were very helpful, even the bass fishermen, so I'll keep up with water level updates and pics as best I can, along with pics of different area's of the lake if anyone is interested in fishing for trout or bass that hasn't here before.
I arrived at the lake a little before 1000 to drizzle conditions, no wind, and a water temp of 57-58F. I started trolling my usual orange wedding ring with half a crawler and had immediate success on the north side of the lake. I caught two, lost two, and had numerous bites on this set up for the first 90 minutes, then it died. I decided to switch over to some pop gear for the first time ever (man that stuff is annoying to fish with, but seems effective). I rigged up a willow leaf with a pink wedding ring 18" behind and started trolling about 30 pulls back. It took me a little while to get used to the action on this rig, but once I figured it out I was getting bit consistently. That set up got me my last 3 fish, for a total of 3 'bows and 2 cutts.
Water level continues to go down gradually with people starting to fish from shore a little, but I haven't seen any shore success yet. Boats wider than about 45" (give or take, not sure exactly) will have a very difficult time getting out unless there's a couple people to help carry it over the blocks. I'll get pictures next time I'm out to help guage it.
