I arrived at Fish Lake around 1330 to overcast skies and strong southerly winds. Water temp was sitting between 58-60F.
I should have known it was going to be "one of those days" when I wasn't really that motivated to go fishing in the first place. The strong wind kept blowing my boat around making it difficult to troll, I forgot my rain gear in the truck so of course it started to pour, and to top it off my battery died right when I wanted to go in...
Now onto the fishing. I hooked a trout 3 minutes into trolling... than lost him. It kept up like that the rest of the day. I stopped counting how many I lost after a dozen, and I didn't even bother to count how many fish I missed. I did end up getting my 5 fish by 1730 (3 'bows and 2 cutts) and rowed back to shore cold and wet.
The water level has started to go down again (but who knows what'll happen with this rain) and the blocks are almost all exposed. Should be another week to decent shore fishing (I'm talking to you Jesse... Stop being a lurker ;)
