Since the girlfriend was sick I made her lunch, put her down for a nap, and headed over to fish lake to try my luck.
I arrived at the lake around 1500 to see the water level had gone down quite a bit in the last week. Should only be a few more days before I start shore fishing here again. Getting the raft over the blocks was a chore, and I saw that people with aluminum boats had to wade their boats past the blocks before they could get out. Weather was in the upper 50's with little to no wind. Water temp was sitting between 53F-54F.
Now onto the fishing. I was trolling an orange wedding ring with half a crawler and a large split shot and that seemed to do the trick. For the first time this year the cutthroat were cooperating. I ended the day a little after 1700 with 4 cutts and 1 bow, along with many more bites. The fish weren't huge, ranging from 8" to 12", but they were fiesty and fun.
