If you hooked up a fly rod from the bottom of the lake, it's mine! Got into the water at 6:30 this moring. the first hit came at about 20 minutes into fishing. Then 10 minutes later, another big bite. This time, I was rowing the boat with both hands, the rod was put in front of me on the bottom of the boat. Before I could react, the rod was pulled outward. Although the reel hit the rim and paused a little bit, but I still wasn't able to grab it. I could only half lying on the boat (trying to reach for the run-away rod) and see the rod fall into the water. I circled around for a few more minutes, saw the fish jumpped out of the water twice. Then everything went back to dead quietness as if nothing has happened. The fish must have spat out the hook and got himself a total victory! I can't tell what that fish was, but from the hard hit, it's more like a big bass than a planter trout.
Anyway, fishing on this lake has slowed down in the past couple of weeks. Today was actually a pretty good day for me, considering I got a bite and a hook up in just 30 minutes.
