Got to lake around one o'clock with water temp at the public Launch 58 degrees-water clarity slightly stained (3 to 5 ft clarity)-air temp 59 degrees-Slight wind and at times strong gusts-depth most fish found 2 to 4 foot-Most productive lure Plastic Crawdad with rattle-Presentation Pitching and Flippin- Had a few nice size Bass on today but could only land 1 for photo which weighted out to be 5lbs 3ozs She took a craw that i pitched to a broken and half submerged dock. She picked it up and moved off toward the side with no sensation on pickup. I went in and out of the docks hugging the shore line looking to see if i could see any spawn sites which i didn't on the third of the lake that i fished. Maybe the other parts of the lake have got the nest visible. From my estimation the bass are still feeding for the spawn.

Same on the East side. All the bass I caught looked like a couple of weeks prespawn. Global Warmng indeed...

Funny story on that lake. Back in the early 70's my brother in law and I decided to bass fish that lake. It was late September. The shoreline cover looked great and we just knew we would get a bite at any time. This fella was out front mowing his lawn and he kept looking at us. Finally he shut off his lawn mower and asked us how we were doing. We told him we hadn't caught anything. He said, Well that makes sense. This lake was poisoned last week. We said, You're kidding! He then said, And on top of that, this lake closes the day after Labor Day.......We were fishing in front of God and everybody on a lake that was closed.......and had no fish in it.....
