Dusted off the Ol' Blue Boat, charged the battery and lubed the hubs. Launched at Horseshoe Lake in search of some largemouth bass. Did not see a bass or get a hit. Didn't see any spawning nests or even one of the seemingly ubiquitous Horseshoe Lake bluegill. Only a very few lily pads were breaking the surface. There was only one other boat on the lake and they were fishing (trolling) for trout. One fellow at the access fishing for trout. Said he had never heard of washingtonlakes.com. but he would check it out. Did see a beautiful white headed eagle. I guess I could admit to getting skunked but I was just taking my bass gear on a boat ride on a nice sunny day. I did need the feel of a little tugging on the rod however, so I tied on a rooster tail spinner and trolled back to the launch ramp. Hooked a nice chunky rainbow 11-12 inches. He was thanked for his tugging and gently released.
