Last couple of days have been rough, weather patterns have the fish moving differently. Always catching a few in the morning but nothing with any size biggest one i've seen come out of a hole in the last few days has been about 9" or so.

Right before the last warm front the lake was hot, couldn't get the jig down fast enough since the cold weather has hit it has slowed down considerably. This wednesday should be a good day, the next warm front is suppose to hit thursday so they should be moving back twoard the north side of the lake.

I usually set up in about 20 feet or so and bottom jig with either a mealworm or a finesse trailer on a size 16 or 14 marmooska jig, usually light takes so I need the jig spring to see them.

A few guys were having sucess on the swedish pimple.

Right off the bottom usually works, this morning the ice was acting strange in close to the dock, all the good ice (clear ice) has been cracking and airating so there is about 12" of bad ice, still plenty safe but it will get less experienced people nervous. I'll be back out wednesday might take tomorrow off, tight lines and heavy nets.

Really 12" ice??? That is the thickest I have ever heard of anywhere in Washington state, ever in my 30 some years ice fishing here, I don't think I have experienced any more than 8". Almost sounds like you hit a spot where maybe the ice sheet broke and slipped under the ice and probably had to have frozen more to get that thickness. Very strange!

Elliott, I saw you arrived this A.M. and depart nearly as quickly. I'm assuming nothing was happening in close. Den and I started there at 7:30 and only got 7-8 or so between us, mostly dinks, before the bite stopped. So we headed out deep, just before you arrived. We were part of that group of 4 you probably noticed out there. We drilled 2 holes and dropped em in, couldn't keep them off our jigs for the next 30-35 minutes. I threw 16 on the ice, all nice ones, in short order. Den got several, too. They're bigger out deep. Then it absolutely went dead....just like that. The other two guys quit getting them at this point, too. Crazy. We stayed another hour and managed only one more before leaving. Just like we saw the past few days.....hammer em early and often, cause it ain't gonna last!

Yeah I think it might have been a stressed spot, just because of the ice color and how it looked and felt it could have easily been like you said and been a refreeze, at any rate I was hard pressed to hear anymore of the girlfriend shrieking at every crack so I had to bail.

Good to hear! At least some of them were getting caught, i'll be out early tomorrow, I really debated taking a day off but I need a good day out on silver it's bound to happen! I'll venture out to the clear ice line tomorrow and set up probably just bring the one man sled if I don't see ya out there i'll post up the report tomorrow night. How bout Auburn eh? Oregon almost did it, sad day for the northwest.
