Hit Silver for a late quick run from 1500-1645, as I couldn't stand to wait till the weekend. About a dozen anglers on the lake when I got there including a pop-up shelter setup. Headed directly to the spot I fished last time (just learned to save coordinates on my phone) and drilled one hole. Since time was short, did some rapid jigging with different lures and bait. Turns out they didn't want eyes or Berkley wigglers today. Hot bait was shrimp. Hot lure was a small JR diamond eyes jig size 12 (maybe) in fire tiger. Used a 1/8oz clown jigging rap to lure them in, and then got 'em mainly on the small jig. They'd crowd around the jigging rap, but could only get one of 'em to commit to the treble on the lure. Quite a lot of fish, got 'em excited, but many just wouldn't bite. Interest died when the sun went down. Came home with 11 keepers.

So Silver does have ice on it? I thought Eloika was the only lake! I've been skunked both times out at Eloika this season. How thick is the ice?

Do you ever see any tigers ice fishing on Silver? I am throwing the idea around of trying to catch a tiger through the ice. Have to go get an ice auger first. Think it is worth a try?

@dougw- I've not seen tigers ice fishing on Silver, but I've heard they're active - someone last year was eyeballing 'em on a camera in a shanty fishing near the road (far north end of the lake). I'm sure you can get 'em just like they get pike ice fishing. Get a tip up and bait with some dead fish.
