I had a great day! 2 tiger muskies in the boat, a 35" and a 33". Both hit very lightly, and didn't put up a strugle. Water temp is sitting at 48 degrees which made them very lethargic. They were both in the net in under 30 seconds, and didn't struggle a bit in the net while removing the hooks. Talk about nice compared to summer fish! Sorry about the bad photo, at least you can see the fish. The sun poked out as the timer went off and took the shot. Didn't want to keep her out of the water any longer.....

Nice report and great photos, but darned if I wasn't disappointed Silver isn't icing over yet. Thanks for the word on Silver though.

With the water temp still at 48, I think it will take a week of sub-freezing weather to even start the lake freezing over. I'll let you know what the water temp is on Thursday/Friday when I go out.

Lake wasn't frozen over yet on Friday. Water temp is still at 42 degrees. With wave action and temps coming back up I doubt it will freeze over for a few weeks.....

That's so funny about the fish being lethargic. Such a fierce looking fish with all those BIG TEETH would seem like a fighter. How do they fight in the warm weather?

Kind of depends. Smaller fish (36" and under) don't seem to fight as much on average. The Larger fish 38+ seem to fight as good or better than most steel-head I have gotten. Probably 1/2 the fish I caught this summer came out of the water more than once. The biggest two that I caught gave me about a 4-5 minute hard fight before I got them in the net. That's a lot considering I use fairly heavy tackle. Both of the larger fish I caught (44" class) came out of the water three separate times before I got them in the net. That being said, the tiger muskie don't fight quite as good as true muskies. I can't say b/c I have never caught a true muskie in the fall, but I bet true muskies fight much better even in the fall.....
