Visited my folks last night who happen to live about 2 miles from Lake Loma. When I was a kid, from ages 12 - 16 or so, I used to ride my bike to this lake every day to fish for rainbow trouts and bass from the shore and I was in the area and figured "why the heck not" and headed over there with my dogs this evening to relax with my dogs and drink a couple cold ones. The water was quite high due to the extreme amounts of rain we experienced last week and the week before and I was pretty surprised to see how hight it was at this time of the year. Fished a bobber and worm and powerbait out in my favorite casting zone and produced any easy limit of tiny little planter rainbows. Tried fishing plastics for bass for a while around the lillys and one log structure I know of from the bank, caught 2 nice little 12" bass. Also taught my border collie puppy to swim and fetch sticks out of the water. A wonderful evening of nostalgia and fetch.
