Rock Lake - Hit the water with pops in the AM. Beautiful sunny day with light winds for this lake. Surface temp around 41 degrees with the water slightly stained. I have been anticipating this trip as I wanted to try some specific patterns and techniques that were shared with me from a fellow Rock angler I met on here. Ten short minutes after locating our 1st spot we decided to fish I hooked up with a nice fish. She was agressive and had the entire bait in her mouth. After covering some water and blowing through several baits we put it together, well kind of. We kept 8 fish, biggest around 20 inches - a fat male. We lost a half dozen as well. All the others were skinny hens. Lots of trollers on the lake today. Spoke with two other boaters at the launch who caught two fish per boat. One type of lure worked very well for us today, and I think it is likely because these fish have not seen a lot of them. I think we must have lost or broke ten lures today, but it was worth it. If your afraid to use it, don't buy it. Most of the fish we kept were full of baby...............well you know A.A (Thanks Buddy). One fish had three of them in her gut. We will be more prepared our next time out, and scouted a lot of areas we want to fish that we did not get to today. FISH ON!!

What are ya.........a teez? I quote: " think we must have lost or broke ten lures today, but it was worth it. If your afraid to use it, don't buy it. Most of the fish we kept were full of baby...............well you know A.A First of all, I do not know if I am afraid to use "it", since "it " remain's a mystery not revealed in your report. Secondly, who is A.A?
Thanks for the report

Thanks Xwisconyfisherman for clearing that up. Now, what is the "it" lure I should not buy if afraid to use ? Glad A.a shared his secret with you, you were not afraid to use "it", and "it:" worked.

The fish I've caught have been eating minnows or fingerlings not babies(lol), so most baits that imitate a minnow will catch fish. The key is depth and speed and if you get that figured out you wiil catch fish. The rest of report must be secret code (lures) .

That is a quote Pops commented while on the boat. I was reluctant to use some more expensive lures at the rate we were going through them, but what he said made a lot of scense to me. It was not directly related to any specific persons. Thank You again Anglinarcher.

Thanks fishassassin59 for the update. I thought maybe a rapala, but I did not think it was likely that 10 of those quality minnow baits would break in one outing, loosing was the other method and more likely than broken. But riprap101 stated the fish probably had not seen much of whatever "it" is. So the mystery lure remains a mystery.......for now!!
