I have been itching to get out on the lake and today I couldn't handle it any more, so I headed out to spencer lake. I fished from 10am till dark and saw a ton of Bass, but couldn't get any of them to bite. Any ideas on catching cruising bass this time of year?

Hey Dan, nice to see you are out there looking for bass.

Cruising bass: most folks slow down this time of year- plastics, jigs worked slow. But, if you can locate the fish, fast moving (relatively speaking due to cold water) baits like cranks and spinnerbaits (slow rolled) can produce some big ones. Its more of a reaction strike than anything. I also like to target bass that I can see with deadsticked soft jerk baits like banjo minnow or flukes. Cast ahead of cruisers, twitch a little, then let it die. Sometimes it takes more than a full minute before they hit. But, they tend to be larger fish when they do.

Glad to hear that they are moving around.
