Silver was tougher than usual Saturday; Large fish were few and far between - nothing broke 8" today. Must have drilled at least 30 6" holes - if you see an L-shaped trail of holes across the shoreline then extending inward - that's me. Finally found a more consistent bite in waters closer to the road (northside); Never fished that area before, but seemed popular in the past. AM bite as usual from 8-11:30; Things turned off and I went home with 26 fish.
Fished a bare black-headed eyeless #10 gold hook jig with maggot and perch eye with two glow beads on 4# line. Always fun to pull perch through the ice. Think I almost had a bass on the line, but lost him right at the hole and didn't get a good look (perch aren't green I suppose). Ice is from 5-7" thick and still clear. Gonna walk through some water at shore before you hit ice.
