Fished from 7:30 till 10:30 am. They started to bite as soon as we got there after 2 hours it really slowed down. Caught three dozen perch, average size, nothing jumbo. When they bite, they bite on just about anything. Bright colors work best today. Ice is excellent 5" to 6", safe to walk on.

Ohhh yeah! Headed your way Kf, I was hoping the ice would be thick enough. I will be hitting all my favorite lakes with my Vexilar. Ever fish under a Vexilar??? If your interested in tripling your catch rate, I would be happy to show you how, maybe we can get together over the holidays. I will be hitting Spokane the 20th, if your interested give me a hollar 360-417-9219 Don ~ BMGW

Great report! I'm headed to Cabela's tomorrow to pickup gear for my first outing ever on ice. Been reading a lot on basspro as well as ice fishing forums to pickup tips. Missed out on the Cabela's ice fishing class yesterday. I miss those yellow lake perch - used to fish for 'em out of Lake Michigan.

You guys ever eat the eggs out of the perch? Somebody told me they are really good with scrambled eggs. Never had the stomach to try them!
