Turned 41 today and decided to take a couple of hours of me time. Went to beaver lake to do some casting practice from shore and try out some new spinner baits. Lake is very high right now, over half of the parking lot / launch is water. After a nasty birds nest, I switched over to spinning rod with a pumpkin brush hog on a weighted hook. First cast - fish on! Brough a 12"er to the shore and let it go. Unexpected catch made my day. Sorry no pics, phone was in the car charging. I am hoping the duck hunters stay at home and put up thier Christmas lights tomorrow, plan on taking the boat out and making a day of it.
