well, the weather has finally turned cold so i tried my hand at silver one last time in search of some tigers. only boated one but had several strike and lost one at the boat(make strong hook sets). most of the day i was tossing cranks of all short but only the smaller ones seemed to produce anything. there were tons of other boaters on the water and the overall tone on the water was one of disapointment. good luck to all and remember.... set the hook like you mean it.

Hey Rat Sports . . . . Sure is a bad way to hold a musky, as it will surely damage the gilles of the fish. Always hold they horizontal and with both hands. They are tough fighters, but are very suseptable to mishandling. We all need to do our part ot keep the mortality rates down so they can grow above the 50" mark.

I for one am glad the weathers turned cold as the lake is much more peaceful to fish this time of year. A bit to cold (for me) for night fishing anymore though . . . . .

See ya on the lake . .. . . .

tigermuskyhunter, i know that wasn't the best way to hold him but what isn't pictured is my left hand that was pouring with blood from that little guy. i had just removed him from my hand and holding them behind their gill plate often releases their jaws. he did swim away quite vigorously and i have no doubt he will grow into something i can't catch.... a 50 inch tm lol, thanks for your concern though i am very sad to say i have seen way too many under 50 muskys leave the lakes this year due to both ignorance and disregard. stay safe this winter and good luck to all !!!!!
