Went out to Island lake today boated around for a bit with no luck. About four I dropped my bait about 100 yards off shore and set in for the bank. Put my rod in the holder and got all my raft stuff together and checked in on my buddy. He had the fatest 17 incher I ever saw. Had to be all of 4 lbs. Not bad for his 3rd fish ever. Went to the garbage to make a drop off. Then went to check my rod. Nothing but slack. As I started to reel in I felt him! 4 mins. later I landed this nice trout. Makes all my skunked days worth it. Will be back soon. The big ones are finaly hitting. I used a green/yellow #10 corky with a worm. He used orange/green Gulp nuggetts.
