Island Lake covers about 43 surface acres and has a maximum depth of about 35 feet. Its elevation is 217 feet. Fish species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass and brown bullhead catfish. The water is stained and there are lots of aquatic vegetation including lots of lily pads.
Public access is through the Island County Park. The park provides rest rooms, picnic area, a fishing dock, some shoreline fishing opportunities and a gravel boat launch limited to hand carried boats. Signs at the launch area include: "Non-trailerable boat ramp," "Gas motorized boats not permitted on the lake," and "9 AM to dusk." Overview and pictures by Bob Johansen
