Decided to try Silver yesterday for the first time since the new launch went in. Got to the lake about 2:30 and no waiting at the launch, although, the swimmers were a nuisance. They didn't bother leaving the water at the launch until I backed down the ramp. I sure don't know why WDFW didn't post a "NO SWIMMING" sign at the launch just like the "NO FISHING OFF THE DOCKS" sign they did post. That would ahve been a win - win for boaters, but I digress.

We headed out to our regular spots that have always produced and we weren't there very long before we were getting into bluegill. As had been the case last year, the bluegill and the crappie we caught were all small. The crappie were 8" clones, and the bluegill though legal to keep were only 6" - 7" and I don't like fooling with them when they are that small. Many of the bluegill were sporting nice color, almost like they were ready to spawn. They sure can be pretty!

We decided to call it a day about 6:30 so we headed off to the launch to load up and head for home.

The new launch is nice, but for some reason, WDFW decided to put a walk ramp from the shore to the dock and put rails on it so people won't fall off. Really makes it a bit more challenging to launch with those high railings.

We fished with 1/16 oz jigs and black/chartruese & red/white tube skirts.

I agree about the ramp to the dock. What were they thinking! I beach it on the gravel.
