Went out to Spencer for my first time, and I was not disappointed. Arrived and furnished the boat about eight, then rowed out with a Hot Wings followed by a flatfish and had no hits. I had been told that good area was aroung the point to the left so I went there, and before the woods ended I anchored about twenty yards out from shore. Re-rigged to bottom fish, and about 9 began casting into the lake. First fish within ten minutes. They kept coming, and most of the time they were swallowing the bait. (I recovered three hooks while cleaning them.) Caught the last of my five, and largest, at10:20, just as the first jet ski was heading up the east shore. All were 11 to 12.5 inches, pink and fat, with the largest at easily 1+ pounds. ( I need a good taklebox scale. Any suggestions?)
