I just had to share this with you guys. On our way to Moses Lake to drop off some freshly caught Crappie to an elderly Black lady, I decided to stop by Babcock Ridge lake to use the rest stop and toss a line for a bit. The water was at full pool, and when I worked at Con agra foods in Quincy, I'd drop in and fish this Lake often after work. Conditions were perfect: overcast, stained water, current and shade combined for an awesome opportunity for panfish. My girl Pam was skeptical, saying Quote" You ain't gonna catch notin' in that scum covered hole!" Au contrair....I dropped in a black and chartruse Clacutta lures tri tone skirt on a 1/32 oz black Northland lures jighead and wham! a very fat 10" crappie hit it. consequetive drops thru the slop and equal sized Crappie continued to hit...Pam wanted in on the action and soon she had a 13" largemouth (released) and several more keeper crappie. We caught some ring tail perch as well. I have to share the fact that these crappie, perch, bass and brown trout from our earlier trip to Antilon lake and our foray to Babcock Ridge were Pam's first ever. She didn't poop out on me even when she was getting rained on up there. I wish every guy had a gal like mine! in all, 8 Crappie,1 Bass and 4 perch. Not bad for a 15 minute pee break! Lol -JM
