Launched the live around 400. Casting worms with no weight , trolling them, CAUGHT 20 or so perch 10 or so bluegill 1 largemouth about 5 inches. it was pregtty funny. I also caught which seemed to be a whitefish or a chub. Looks like there was a midnight stocker out there. Does anyone know why there is whitefish there. Is it for population control on the Panfish. Because between the 2 of us we boated 50 or so. Why is there Chubs? Whitefish?

You likely caught squawfish. They are a nuisance bottomfish that decimates trout and salmon populations in Northwest streams. So much so, in fact, that there is a bounty on them in the Columbia and Cowlitz River systems. There are fishermen who spend a few days a month fishing for them, collect the bounty from the state, then use the money they earn to fund their salmon fishing excursions.

They are fun to catch though, as they fight well for their size.

fight well? I'd have to disagree with that....if they fought well they would n't be such horrible creatures...the fact is when they bite they hit your bait hard and then do nothing even after you've pulled them from the water! they just go limp.....kill em' all!

I will agree if they are squawfish they hit well, but do not fight well at all.
