Throwing a rapala toward shore I landed 8 browns and 8 rainbows this morning ranging from 12" to17" in about three hours. Rainbows gave the best fight and were fatter, while the browns were skinny and basically just spun to the boat. A couple of bank fishermen at the launch had not had any luck.

Very unusual that the Browns just spun to the boat. About a month ago the Browns out fought the Bows two to one, but the Browns have not recovered yet from last falls spawn.

The Browns also usually don't get "fat" until about 18 -20 " in size here, after they switch over to crayfish.

The browns did hit the plug harder and gave a little fight at first, but then didn't have much left in the tank. Would like to get into some larger fish, but can't seem to find the right formula to lure in the lunkers. Perhaps patience is the answer.

Hi, do you know what the water temperatures were like and water clarity. I'm wondering what all the rain has done for Rock and Pine Creek inputs to the lake. Anyone know how turbid Rock is? Tight Lines and thanks for the report, David

Hey RR, would you mind disclosing the portion of the lake you fished?

I didn't check the water temp, probably mid 30's, clarity was about 5 feet. I started down the east side across from the launch and worked the bank down to where it gets quite shallow with huge boulders, approx. 2 miles. I'm sure the lake clarity might get worse the farther north you go and closer to the creek inlet, although I've fished the inlet in extreme run-off and the lake stayed fairly clear except at the mouth.
