Ive lived less than an hour away from this lake for three years, and never heard of it. Found out about it at the same time I bought a boat, been fishing it for the last four weekends.researched it on this site so I figured I should write a report. What a great place to fish.
We hit the water about 8 am and went straight to the north end, I dropped my line in and had a small brown on in seconds, a good start. we worked the area real slow and picked up a few more small ones (10'') and a nicer 15ish one until it just seemed to go dead for us working the shore line, so we motored to the center of the lake and drifted, picking up a few more, another 10" and two more 15". And of course the big one got away. I'm still trying to figure this place out, I know there are bigger fish in there but I haven't figured them out yet. We used green wedding rings behind silver and gold 4 blade spinners. The weather was a little rough in the morning, but actually turned quite nice in the afternoon, a little overcast and just enough wind to keep the heat down. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck night fishing this lake?

I found trolling 2-3 colors of leaded line followed by 70-100' of mono with small dodger and 15-20" to a black or green fly and a night crawler works well. I guess the fish are afraid of boats. There are decent sizes browns and rainbows out there. Choppy water is good too. Good luck!

We night fished this lake just near Johnson Beach a few weeks ago.. The bite was only fair until about half hour after the sun went down and then BAM! The bite was fast and furious for about 30-45 minutes and then it was dead again.. We caught a 4 lb german brown and a 14-15" brown and lost 4 more fish in that time period... Rock is dangerous and I dont recommend night fishing unless you know the lake well, but I will definitely be back for night fishing!
