Got out to the lake around 6:30 pm looking to fish for some tiger muskie. I have never fished for them before and was hoping to get lucky. I threw on a large spinner and my wife threw on a deep diving perch colored crankbait. we started heading south trolling on a medium speed on my electric motor, with our lures roughly 50' in tow. we were trying to stay within thirty feet of the shore. within three minutes my wife had what she thought to be a snag on some really heavy weeds, it turns out that it was a 20" 5lb bass. not an ounce of fight in it, it just laid there while it was dragged in. regardless, a huge fish that we were both very happy with. For the next couple hours we didn't even have a bite. I did catch one bass that was around 11" and very thick for its size. other than those two fish, we had no action. Even though it was slow fishing, the lunker bass made it all worth it. I will be back probably this weekendd after some muskie.
