My girls really wanted to go out for a boat ride today so we went to Island lake. We got there at about one and left at 5. Found some yellow perch and some small bass for my 6 year old to catch. She was using a chartreuse grub. She caught about 3 yellow perch and two small bass. After she got a few I gave them snacks and I was able to get some casts in. I caught some small ones under docks with a green lizard. And the one in the picture on a texas rigged dark green creature bait in about 12 feet of water. Had to take the picture because I wanted everyone to see how pretty the colors are on the bass here. My daughter took the picture. Saw some 4-5lb bass in the shallows but they weren't very active and very spooked. It was the hottest part of the day, so probably not the best time to be fishing. When all the skiers started up my daughters just wanted to drive around fast. Got my front deck wet for the first time! All in all the girls slept all the way home and had lots of fun!

The fish in the pic was only a pound and a half or so. The water temp was 68. Sparky Haven't you ever tried skipping under docks with those things, awsome. Yup that was my purple rod in the background my daughter was using the baitcaster! So when we going to Mayfield?
