Mason County’s Island Lake is located about 2 ½ miles north of Shelton. It covers 110 surface acres, reaches depths of about 31 feet and lies at an elevation of 230 feet. Fish species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and pumpkinseed sunfish. Public access is provided by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. The large access area has plenty of parking spaces a pit toilet and a concrete plank boat launching ramp.
