Got on the water around 10:00 a.m. The water was clear with the surface temperature at 59 degrees. The air temperature was around 60 degrees, with a moderate wind from the south west. After a bit of trolling, I noticed that many of the fish were remaining at the 25 ft. zone. My fish finder showed that at about 25 feet there was a thermocline. The fish were lying just above the this area. The surface temperature was 60 degrees and at the 25' depth, the temperature was 54 degrees. This appeared to be there comfort zone.
Dennis, Dave and I caught several fish in the 14-19" range. Green or olive appeared to be the most affective fly color.
