We arrived at 10:00 am. The sun was out, 50 degrees, and no wind. One other boat on the lake, a few fishing from shore, and three float tubers along the roadside portion of the lake. Water was 52.8 Deg F. We trolled dicknite spoons, green with black specks on one side, off white on the other on 4.5 foot leaders using one swivel and one small split shot. We were in 14 to 16 feet of water in the middle of the lake directly in front of the campground entrance. We landed 4 plants, released the first one which was around 8 inches, kept the other three which were around 10 inches each. We had 4 others to the boat before they spit the hook, and lots of bites. These were all newly stocked small trout but fun to catch anyway. Lots of fish on the fish finder. We fished for 3 hours so fishing wasn’t fantastic, but steady for the most part. In a few more weeks when the water warms a little more, these fish will be much more active as they are every year around the third week of April. Usually by opening day weekend, you can’t keep em off in this lake which is great because the thousands out fishing will be at opening day lakes not here. For those who don’t know this lake, it also holds large brown trout and nice carryover RB. Last year 10K 8 inch brown trout were planted and I am sure not many were harvested. So lots of opportunity for browns and nice RB. Until next time, good luck and good fishin.

10K brown trout?

I didn't know they stocked that many here. All I have heard about was rainbows.

The information I provided in my post regarding the 2007 brown trout stock of 10K was incorrect. My apology, the correct number was 5,100 1/4 pound brown trout. Thanks.
