So me and a roommate hit Rock today at about 12:00. Got the boat in the water for the first time this year, ran great. Have a few issues I need to figure out and will ask about in the forum. So we tried trolling rapalas and spinners along the banks... Nada.... We tried a few other things and still.... Nada.... Finally I said, "Lets hit "the spot" that I saw the browns thick when I was duck and goose hunting back in December. We got to "the spot" and I had 3 15" browns in the boat in 10 min. I got to laughing so hard, my roommate couldn't even get his line back in the water and he was unhooking another from my line. We got 8 browns in about an hour using spinners in "the spot". Didn't find any of the big fish, but those 15" fish taste so good! That was my first time fishing Rock lake. Anybody have any tips to finding the big'uns I would love to hear em. I know there are lots in there!

Friends and I got a couple of 4+ pounders in the last few weeks just casting to shore with crankbaits. Haven't found a ryhme or reason as to where yet (working pretty much the whole lake and probably 1000+ casts a day). I'm told they grow a lot bigger than that in Rock Lake, but those are the biggest I've found so far.

This lake is loaded with 14" to 16" Browns, and later in the year the 8" + rainbows show up in mass. The "Big" Bows and Browns are there now, but there are tricks and spots that you will need to learn.

I say that you will need to learn them yourself because each of us seem to find our own way. I know of a guy that does well with Rapalas trolled deep with a downrigger. I know of people that do well with crankbaits along the shore. I do very well, but I have my own milk run I do on the lake, depending on the weather and time of day, each with a different method.

I have caught and released several 30"+ Browns, and a few Bows in that size, so they are there. But keep in mind, there is so much food in that lake that they don't need to eat burgers when Stake is available.
