Got on the water about 11:30. The surface water temperature has gone down 4 degrees in the last week with the cooler weather. Around noon the wind was light and from the s.w. with very little fishing action. A few guys on the lake were picking up a few hits on blood worms.
About 1:00 p.m., the wind started to pick up with small waves forming on the lake. Along with the wind, the fishing also picked up. I thought that with the wind, maybe some of the damsels nymphs would be blown out of the shallows. I started fishing the narrows area with a dragon fly nymph. In a short time I landed two 17" rainbows. I changed to a green wooly leech and caught two more nice fish. About 2:00 p.m. white caps were starting to form and rain coming, so I decided to quit. An enjoyable three hours on the lake.
