sugestion for trout lake with rv parking
Hello
Im looking for sugestions to get back into fishing.I have a 40ft motorhome aand a 16ft boat.Ive been looking for campgrounds tht can take the bigger rvs and possibly launch my boat or i could rent a boat. My grandpa used to talk about jameson so i thought i would give that a try. Any lakes you guys have seen that might work for me. I went to lake cushman over the weekend but it would have been to get into the sites.
Thanks

What do you want to fish for? and what area of the State are you interested in? There are quite a few lakes in Washington that have campgrounds attached.

Spectacle lake resort. Located above the town of Tonasket.
Great family friendly place with all the needs you could ask for. Boats available. dock. large launch. I know of a guy who has a similar size motorhome, maybe 40'. He trailered his boat behind that and launched it here. There is also a swimming pool, and vollyball nets. electrical/H2o obviously for trailer hook up.
It is run by very nice people. Look it up and give them a call.
The lake is fine for stocker rainbows. In my experience it is not much of a lake for holdover trout. You are very close though from there... to a few pretty good trout lakes. I am drawing a blank unfortunately on the good lake near there. Busy at work, you could PM if you have any questions.

"The Cove" at Fish Lake has long been one of my families favorite places to go. Right off HWY 2, they have space for RVs, a boat launch with dock and moorage, and boats to rent if you wanted to go that route. The lake has great fishing for Trout and Perch, as well as bass.
Lake Wenatchee right next to fish lake is another with nice park and RV sites.
Depending on where you're located... Flowing lake in the Snohomish Area has a nice campground with rv sites, close to home. Boat ramp, and good trout fishing.
OFCOURSE you can't forget about Mardon Resort on Potholes Reservoir, if you want to go for a weekend and a bit of a drive. Great resort, great dock, and great fishing! Walleye, Bass, Trout, Crappie, Perch, Catfish....

Thanks blurock
I did go to fish lake once with the rv but had a hard time getting into the spot. They do have some nice spots but the campsites are first come first served so the larger sits may be occupied. Fun fishing though. Im in seattle but would be fine with anywhere in the state since we will likely be 5 or 6 day trips. Have you seen guys that bring boats behind rvs finding someone to launch there boat. I have concerns with launching with the rv.

Re: sugestion for trout lake with rv parking
Everyone I've seen with boats behind RVs launch them with the RV and a buddy standing behind to guide them. Mardon has a large space to launch where you could easily launch your boat with the RV. You might want to take a drive to Flowinv and check it out before trying it, I don't remember how much space there is. But it's less than an hour from Seattle.

In addition to those already suggested:
If you're on the east side, Potholes State Park is nice. Fishtrap Lake south of Cheney has a private resort and good trout fishing. Never stayed at Steamboat Rock State Park, but have heard good things.
Westside of the state, Ike Kinswa State Park, Kachess Lake Campground, Wenberg Park on Lake Goodwin...etc. I just keep thinking of more as I write. There really are a lot to choose from both public and private campgrounds.

Re: sugestion for trout lake with rv parking
As I said regarding Spectacle Lake Resort near Tonasket.... There is a guy on this forum who goes by Stryker17. He has a monster size motorhome. I am thinking 40'. A couple years ago when he was at Spectacle, he was towing his boat behind the HUGE RV. The people from the resort were nice enough to launch the boat via the motorhome for him, as maybe he wasn't quite comfortable.iasm wrote: Have you seen guys that bring boats behind rvs finding someone to launch there boat. Re: sugestion for trout lake with rv parking
Curlew lake might be a good one, several private and a public campground- lots of stocker trout with some holdovers. (Also Bass & Tiger Muskie) I think with a large motorhome Black's Beach might be the best option, they have some spots on the water and also docks and a launch but I'm sure Tiffany's or the state park would be fine too.

Re: sugestion for trout lake with rv parking
Great suggestions.I am looking into the lakes.Im exited to get back to fishing and camping. Our adventures the last few yers have been croscountry roadtrips which is great with a large rv but more dificult when trying to be more flexible in tight locations.
Re: sugestion for trout lake with rv parking
Kachess is dry camping and you'd need to launch and retrieve the boat by yourself. Otherwise it is a great lake to fish for smaller kokes and the occasional laker and burbot. Also, the campground opens this weekend and the same can be said for Lake Cle Elum and the Wish Posh campground, except that the kokanee fishing isn't so good. Blue Lake and Park Lake both have campgrounds with full hookups and the camp manager will launch your boat for you. The fishing is pretty good with the holdovers all running over a pound a piece.
