Pend Oreille River fishing
Ok all the Muskies freaks out there that are going stir crazy, i finally said enough is enough and launched the boat today and fished for about 4 hrs. The weather was cool around 38 degrees and the water temp is 36 degrees. I fish water in and around 20ft. I had 12 follows but no takers. I threw jujst about everything i could think of in all diffrent sizes and they just wouldnt bite it, they followed it and swatted at the baits but no takers. Not a bad day of fishing and saw alot of good size fish in the 6-8lb range. Game on as far as the river goes, its time to fish. We offer half day trips at a discount through february if anyones interested.

You need to get up there fishing its always good early on. Just depends on how much of the cold you can take lol frozen hands and all. Better than sitting at home...

RE:Pend Oreille River fishing
So where did you fish at today? Did you launch at the sandy shore you talk about? I dont know where it is. If you want to hook up next week would be cool, ur boat or mine. You need to throw on one of the S-Waver baits. The fish I got on it today crushed it, as it was sitting still. I was throwing the 120mm rainbow trout pattern. Love them baits.

I fished by Indian Island, I launched out of Davis rd Launch about got stuck good thing i had chains in the truck or i would have been calling a tow truck lol... I've never used the S Waver bait who makes that and is it a swimbait or jerkbait and what size are they what is the 122mm compared to? Sany shores is on the Eastside of the river past Pioneer park about 5 miles i guess.

Hey Craig, I can't beleive you haven't heard of the S-wavers swimbaits yet. I love the action on these things and so do the PIKE! LOL
Here is what the one I was fishing today looks like,
This Hitch pattern is one of my favorites need to get a new one of these.
They are made by River2Sea, and they come in 2 sizes, the 120 mm = 4 3/4" and the 168mm = 6 5/8" and in about 6 colors.
I lost a 168mm in a hitch pattern to a monster pike last spring fishing 65 lb. braid, cut it like butter.
They dont currently have a lot of good colors , but I have been talking to the company and got them to bring out a few other colors this spring sometime. Like Perch and Firetiger, I was hoping for baby bass to, but think it got scraped. here is a site you can see all the other colors they have currently as well as a video of this thing in the water.
http://www.landbigfish.com/showcase.cfm?PID=4303
Make sure you check out the video, IT IS A MUST SEE!
They are not cheap though as the 120mm is $12.99 and the 168MM is $16.99. i have found some on Ebay cheaper, but not much.
I think Ax Tackle carries River2Sea baits.

Het Craig;
Fished the PO again today. The bite was slower then yesterday, but I still managed to get 1 fish to the boat. Had about 8 fish bite on the herring and slip bobber between me and my fishin patner, but missed all but 1. No hits to day on the S-Waver or Huskyjerks. Hoping to hook up this with you maybe at the end of the week. If we take my boat you wouldn't have to worry about the launching in idaho.
