Mcintosh is a pretty good lake. I know there is a regular crowd who fishes there every midnight before the opener. Its also a great little bass lake. Do they still get trips? I havnt been there for a few years, but the last time I was there was opening day, right before dark. It wasnt that crwoded, but it was not so good weather and we just fished from the launch for a couple hours. Dont forget about about Offut and Deep lakes, close to Mcintosh and also kick out nice fish.

As I remember when I used to race motorcycles at the Rainier Bowl and fish this lake when I was down there it was choked with weeds. It was very good for bass when I was there but I never even thought of it as a trout lake. Do the weeds only choke the lake during the summer? The deepest places that I found were only 15-20'. Is there even a halfway decent trout fishery in this lake?

Last year they had a fish die off at McIntosh, most of the hold overs didn't make it. The deepest part of the lake is 11 feet and the water must have gotten pretty warm. Anyway, you probably won't catch many of decent size (hold overs). I have fished this lake for probably 15 years, and will be going to Deep Lake for the opener.
