I don't know if your specific question is answer in this, but it is a good article on Bobber Dogging. We just published last month:ChromeSlayer wrote:How long should my leader be when bobber doggin a single bead?

Re: I have a Bobber Doggin question?
I've never actually dogged beads before, but I dog corkies with eggs for winter steelhead and I have always done fine with leaders in the 2' range, even in relatively clear water. Other opinions may differ, but when drifting (or dogging, which is sort of related) I like to keep leaders as short as I can in order reduce possible foul hookings and to see/feel the bite as soon as possible.
