On the way to the tri city's

Post by JT26 » Sun Jan 13, 2008 10:59 pm

So my mom lives in Kennwick, one of the try cities, and i visit her a few times during the summer, and spring, and on the way there, through the mountains all the way there, there are a ton of lakes, ponds and streams. Everytime i see a body of water i want to fish it (especially that one with all the tree stumps i think its keechus or keechellus). I have only fished one lake on the way back, and caught a trout. Dont know what it was called, but it was a nice little lake with a trail and all.

Anyways, does anyone know of good lakes on the way into the tri citys? sometimes my dad is willing to stop and let me fish for a while, so i would love to take that opportunity to stop at a good lake. also, i will be fishing from the shore.

Just trying to get 2008's fishing researched so ill be ready :)

ps. i already know about the great fishing in the tri citys. i have caught many smallies and channel catfish in the columbia river, and snake river near where it enters the columbia, plus limited on trout in columbia park pond with my moms boyfriend as a guide.
Im sorry this is turning into a long post, but does anyone know about the perch around tri citys?

Thanks, JT

HI JT,
I AND MY G-FRIEND HAVE A HOUSE IN WEST RICHLAND. I WORK OVER HERE IN SEATTLE, THOUGH. I FISH POTHOLES AND TEH COLUMBIA RIVER SYSTEM EXCLUSIVELY. AS FAR AS, PERCH. JUST 30 MINUTES NORTH OF PASCO IS LOWER SCOOTNEY RESEVIOR. THIS HAS A SPILLEWAY DUMPING WATER FROM SCOOTNEY RES. AS THE WATER COMES OUT OF THE CHANNEL IT GOES FROM SHALLOW TO VERY DEEP. THE PERCH SCHOOL UP RIGHT HERE. CLOSER TO TRI-CITIES OUTSIDE OF MESA,WA THERE ARE NUMEROUS PONDS (MESA LAKE, HIGHWAY PONDS) THAT HOLD LARGE QUANTITIES OF PERCH/CRAPPIE. AND OF COURSE, OVER IN BURBANK, THE SLOUGHS HAVE PERCH (TAKES SOME HUNTING). IF YOU EVER WANT TO GET INTO A TON OF PERCH, I HIT THE POTHOLES AREA NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER APRIL 1ST, AND YOUR WELCOME TO JOIN US. OH YEA, THOSE FREEWAY LAKES OUTSIDE YAKI-VEGAS HAVE FISH. THERE IS A GUY ON THIS SITE WHO POSTS HIS REPORTS FROM THEM. LOOK THEM UP! GOOD LUCK!!!
