BRINE SOLUTION

Post by wherearethefish » Mon Jul 28, 2014 8:56 am

I bought a couple bottles of Mikes Bright N Tight clear solution and have not had a chance yet to pass judgement. I usuall make my own following the recipe mentioned on the SU web site. A word of caution and also a THANK YOU notice to the stupid jerk who opened a bottle, broke the seal and did not retighten the cap. The bottle leaked a small amount, about 3 oz onto the floorboard of the backseat. I had my dog with me. I stopped at a store on the way home and Bruno must have licked some of this liquid and I did not know this. When I got home, I noticed he seemed sick and mopy like. I put him in his kennel run with fresh water and some food and left to take care of other business. I got home about 11PM. The bag of stuff I purchased at Sportco was still in the backseat. When I picked up the back I noticed the bottled had leaked a small mount. I went to let Bruno out of his kennel and found he had died. :ncool:

sounds weird that brine would kill your dog. wonder if he got into something else, or maybe it was just his time

I am positive it was the brine. At ten years old he was healthy, full of energy and always ready to go for rides in the truck or hop in the boat with me. I looked at a couple other brands and there was a caution statement, but nothing on the Mike's brand. Still can't be good to drink in any amount. He was pretty sick, but I figured it was something that would pass.

I suggest you contact Atlas Mikes bait co and tell them about this incident, maybe they can weigh in on the subject
