Direct drive (Thumb Drag)
Does anyone use a reel with a thumbdrag I have a couple I use for Steelheading.
RE:Direct drive (Thumb Drag)
You mean Levelwind reels or baitcaster reels?

Like a levlewind or any reel without a darg or where you can turn the drag off.
This is my favorite reel it is a magic reel it had a brake that you use your pinky on, great for use in small streams
That is a Shimano bantam mag plus it has a switch where you can turn the drang on or off.
This is a Quantum 1420 mg it is a great levle wind reel it has a switch where you can turn the drag on or off.

Yep I got Daiwas, Shimanos, etc in levelwind models. Mostly levelwinds for saltwater fishing and baitcasters for bass fishing.. I have the last model of Bantam 50's they made before they discontinued them a couple years ago...
