~HOT~Crappie action!!!

Post by panfisher » Mon Sep 12, 2011 3:18 am

Finally had some time to do some fishing!! This time of year when the days are hot and the fish don't seem to be hungry, you may need to down size your offerings and/or slow your presentation to a crawl. Here are a few that took a couple of hours fishing from 2:30-4:30pm. Lost just as many. Structure that gives some shade most always have a few. These went 10" to 10 3/4" using 1/80th jigs with yellow/white/marabou, and flash.

From your pics. I can see that it must be true, all the talk about crappie liking wood for cover. Enjoy those tastey fish.

That's one type of fishing I have always wanted to do. I have never caught a black crappie!

These were caught on Myron lake in Yakima. All the ponds along I-82 have crappie. As I mainly fish from shore they are great to fish if you like panfish. The panfish have not come in yet but they should really pick buy April 1rst

Thanks. Everything I've been reading lately points to a trip(s) out there this year.

Yeah that lake can be pretty good at times for crappie. I have another in Mason county that I've caught some nice crappie too, most of them going about 10.5", then a couple undersized ones too.
