WTT 156 salmon leaders ;)

Post by platypus22 » Mon Aug 01, 2011 11:54 pm

Alright, so I have a ton of salmon leaders I'd like to trade. 156 total pieces. Will trade for??? I dunno. Since I am not looking to make money on the deal, how about I just say I'll trade 'em to the best offer that comes in the next week (by August 8th). I primarily fish rivers from the bank, so having this stuff is not useful to me. I'm thinking about taking up fly fishing. Wow me with your offers. Seriously, whoever makes the best offer - even if it's the only offer - is gonna get these leaders next week. Hell, I'll even pay the shipping provided you pay the shipping for whatever we decided to trade ;)

Here's what you'll get (all are brand new and still in the retail packaging):

20 - Eagle Claw 10# slip-tie 1/0, 2/0
24 - Les Davis 12# slip-tie 1/0, 2/0
24 - Les Davis 15# slip tie barbless 4/0, 3/0
25 - Les Davis 25# slip-tie barbless 5/0, 4/0
1 - Eagle Claw 25# slip-tie barbless 4/0, 5/0
23 - Les Davis 25# slip-tie 5/0, 6/0
1 - Les Davis 30# slip tie 4/0, 3/0
24 - Les Davis 30# slip-tie 5/0, 6/0
12 - Les Davis 50# solid tie 5/0, 6/0

No trade offers yet. Weird. I figured people would jump at the chance to get leaders for cheap/free. Sad face.

I've got an ugly stick UL rod with a neat little reel on it that I'll trade you for. It's the nice ugly stick, with the cork handle, not the cheap one. The reel is pretty nifty too. Well used, but it's caught me lots of trout and bass.

People may be a bit tentative with the offer due to not knowing someone on internet and then having someone say 'mail something to me and I'll mail something back'.

I'm sure your offer is genuine but you might offer meeting someone instead?

Dunno. Either way I don't have much gear to begin with to trade LOL.

Did tie up 2 POS pink flies #-o #-o simply because I have none (well actually a good guy gave me one the other day, his own cool pattern) and want to try the fly rod this year even tho it's 25+ years old 6 wt with a 5 wt line:-" :-" :-# LOL. It (fly rod) does have tremendous sentimental value for me even as a cheapo Martin combo rod/reel- I ditched the reel a long time ago cuz it sucked and put on a Pflueger Medalist 1494.

Maybe some eggrolls adn 2 POS pink flies?:)

Well, so far I like Nate's offer. (nothing against eggrolls, hahaha ;)

And that's an excellent point about people being skeptical. I'd be happy to meet somewhere in the Seattle area. (I've actually met Nate before - he showed me some carp fishing fun on Lake Washington - so that's convenient)

Also, if I trade with someone and meeting up won't work, I'll ship the leaders first. Whoever gets 'em can wait till the receive them before they ship whatever we trade for. I don't want anyone to feel like they might get screwed. I'm personally not worried about getting screwed over on the trade. Karma's a b!tch, right? ;)

Tight lines,

Aaaaaaaaaah man, I'd trade gear in a heartbeat for some of those eggrolls! Those are some of the BEST eating that my wife and I have had. I'd even get rid of half of the steelhead taking up space in my fridge to have some eggrolls to eat with the rest of 'em.

Now that is two WaLaker's I have had boast about the egg rolls, Quad, and Nate. You might rethink the tasty treats as the winning bidder/offer. As I recall, the egg rolls end up being a generous portion. And, one of the guy's making you an offer, has given a testimonial to the tastiness of the food offer/deal. Whatever you do, don't make the decision on a empty stomach..........LOL!! The stomach will win out every time.

Sadly, I've already shipped the leaders to Nate.

But now I'm hungry for egg rolls.

Dammit.... Safeway Chinese food is gonna have to do I guess. lol

Next time I have something to trade I'm hitting you up for some egg rolls. (as I'm already conceding that tonight's grocery store Chinese food is going to be mediocre)

LOL. Egg rolls don't last long though. You made a good choice.

Nate will have hooks for some time. Hmm, if I'm on the water around him I'll have to have a spare eggroll or two nearby just in case:)

I have had that Chinese food, and it has been quite awhile since because of how mediocre it is!

Might keep a spare (eggroll) in your back pocket for just an occasion/nate encounter. You both benefit........errrrrr..........depending on how long the eggroll has been there!! LOL.....Ha..ha..ha
