Anyone hear or know about White Lake in Auburn, WA King County?

Post by islandbass » Thu Aug 12, 2010 11:36 pm

I am going to be in the Auburn area and found this lake called White Lake. Does anyone know about this lake as in what kind of fish it has? It is in the lake index here, but there is no information or reports on it. Thanks!

Looks interesting on google maps. Never been up that road myself.

Might be private property back in there or even Muckleshoot land.

The City of Auburn has it on a web page called "Auburn Vision 2016" and it just says "Restore White Lake" Dont see many references to it.

Thanks! I also spotted a lake called Holm Lake or something like that. There are a couple of relatively recent reports on it here. I think I will check that out if White Lake isn't accessible.

Island I live about 10 min from Lake Holmes. I wouldn`t waste my time there. I know there is bass in there but I don`t think there is many. I don`t know why they call it a lake it`s a pond. But if your looking for somthing new and got time I guess that`s your call. I`ve been there numerous times and been skunked numerous times. Biggest bass I`ve caught there was about 8in. I`ve never heard about the other lake you mentioned but if the mucks own it or it`s near the res. I wouldn`t go near it.

If I`m not mistaken it looks like white lake is on miles sand and gravel property. I think that`s the pond/lake yousee on the east side of hwy 18 as you head east bound.

Thanks, rjn.

I only have about 1.5 hours. You're right, it's just a pond. I saw the pads and sure wish I had some earthworms as it just flat out screamed blue gill haven.

I only got one hit that I missed on the drop shot and I did what I normally would usually not do as I mentioned on another forum but I had no choice. I had one rod with 6# test and the other with 8# and I threw the former into cover, I reserve for much higher test.

3 others also started fishing. One for trout and the other two were after blue gill with earthworms. They had their first blue gill in less than 5 minutes. Love it when the gut is calls it.

Anyway, I didn't get a chance to visit White Lake.

I skunked out, but you know that adage, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day in the office. Who in the h-e- double hockey sticks made that up?! :^o :flower: I didn't see your post until now. I probably should have gone west and up the hill to steel lake.

You wouldn`t have taken my advice anyway.:) You would have had to check it out eventually. I know that`s how I am. When you see it you think bass haven. But not the case. Your right a bad day fishing is better then a good day at work. At least you had fun.

I've been told by a number of people that Holmes does produce good bass, but it's difficult to fish because the public area is tiny and covered in lilies.

same with Morton, which is down the road.

and bass lake (although bass lake has been extremely unproductive for me)

there is lake 12, but i have only caught a bunch of dinks and the plant life is destroying the lake.

there is black diamond lake, but it's very hard to get to.

lake sawyer.

in the auburn area west though, Kilarney and Geneva, but again these small lakes are hard access, you need a dingy of a boat really.
