I like the fall bite on Potholes.
Lots of big fish and not many boats that time of the year.

yep. yb is right, the potholes is tough to beat. im heading there the week-end of 8/25 for 4 days of fishing. ive been fishing it for 30 years. my grandfather was the director of the Bureau of Reclamation that built the whole Columbia Irrigation Project, that potholes is a part of. the fall bite is tremendous. you can fish for walleye, trout, crappie, perch, smallmouth, largemouth, catfish. this time of year there, they are all biting. if your available that week-end let me know, i can show you some decent dock/shore fishing. good luck!

Pretty close to you JT, beaver lake. There are some huge winter trout caught out of there according to the reports. Potholes is great in the fall, falls of a little at the beginning of winter, then all the little fish go to sleep or something and all the big ones come out:cheers: But driving over the pass is nasty that time of year.
