Downs lake info!

Post by YellowBear » Thu Mar 04, 2010 8:43 am

My son wants to fish Downs this week and asked if I could find some info for him.
I haven't been there in a hundred years and am out of touch with it.
Anything would be helpful.

Thanks for your time.

Yellowbear

My wife and I usually fish Downs in September for nice sized perch. We usually run the boat up into the edge of the lilly pads and fish with jigs or worms. The water is only three or four feet deep when we do this. The pads probably haven't emerged yet so I would probably find a deeper spot and fish under the boat with worms. The folks at the resort are good with info.

Costs are cheap compared to most areas around there. Boat lauch is $5 if I remember right. Boat rental are really cheap, as well as the camping fee. There is always something biting there. The people are great!
