Redondo Boat Launch - Missing Pontoons

Post by G-Man » Wed Feb 17, 2010 10:35 am

For those of you who may be looking to use the Redondo boat launch in the near future, be advised that if you are by yourself it will be a real bugger. There are only 2 pontoons left to make up the "dock" and they are only in the water at max high tide conditions. I suspect that replacement pontoons are on their way, but I saw no signs or notices on when that may be and the web site for the launch makes no mention of the situation.

If you do hit area 11, be on the lookout for floating debris. We were out on Monday and there were several small floating islands of the stuff. It was especially nasty around the points.

They pull out the normal length docks for the winter.
