I haven't read your report yet. I will do it now.jens wrote:I mentioned that guy in my report..Toni wrote:jens wrote: But it sure makes fishing with a bobber and jig a lot easier.
That is true but not if you can't control it or aren't paying attention. Or was he doing it deliberately?

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

All good chum77, I am looking into getting a sled, just so I can get away from the crowds. But, from my point of view, I learned a lot fishing in those combat rivers. :chef:chum77 wrote:not trying to bash anyone its just my own opinion on how i dont like it, but if it works for you thats great keep doing what your doing by all means.

I love to find new spots. The more secluded, the better. And as for the boneheads drifting across everybody's line, that's why I carry a razor knife. First times free and I'll even untangle it for ya. After that, if you're not payin' attention to casting order and just lettin' it fly, you might get snipped!
When times get tough, just keep on fishin'!!!
RE:Picture this
He wasn't casting over others. He was casting farther out and letting it drift all the way. Those further down had to wait for him to reel it in. He couldn't even see the guys boot.salmonslayer117 wrote:I love to find new spots. The more secluded, the better. I too like to fish secluded areas. I went to Bush Point yesterday and the two of us were all there was.Im in it for the relaxation and challenge. My fishing buddys family own a fish market in the Public Market.I dont fish for the fish as much as for my inner peace.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

My apologies for this one. I stopped and thought about it and I realized that's not me. I think I was just in a pissy mood when I posted it. I don't condone cutting anyone's line because I wouldn't want them to do the same to me. The real me would usually just find another spot or try to work it out. Just so you know.salmonslayer117 wrote:I love to find new spots. The more secluded, the better. And as for the boneheads drifting across everybody's line, that's why I carry a razor knife. RE:Picture this
i remember a trip to the samish in particular. A buddy and I put in a hole day up there just watchin people drag fish after fish. (20 pounders). At the time we didnt know what we were doin. went back the next day, and finally my buddy jerry hooked into one. played the fish for a few. the king ended up swimming down stream right into this kids feet. (about 40 feet away) before jerry had a chance to walk over and see his fish, the kid whips out his knife yells "its foul hooked" and cuts the line, leaving the jig (bright pink) in the top of its head!! Jerrys a fighter if you piss him off. he almost got his head kicked in!!
fish on!
RE:Picture this

I saw a gun drawn because a guy cut another guys line on the Samish. A little cash changed hands to replace the cut off jig.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about. I don't want to be that guy. It ruins the fishing experience for all parties involved. I've seen it too many times. I wouldn't ever do something like that intentionally. I try as hard as I can to peacefully coexist with all my fellow anglers. I would never learn anything if I didn't. It's all thanks to them that I know what I do now. I've never been to the samish, but it sounds alot like the puyallup and I've seen people get hurt over that sort of thing. I don't like that idea. If you've got a fish on, I'm out of the water as fast as I can. I used to do stupid things like that a long time ago, and it never got me anywhere. I know better now. Please forgive me, I promise I won't post when I'm angry anymore.saltyseadog wrote:i remember a trip to the samish in particular. its been a very mild winter guys. I duck hunt and all the duck hunters are complaining that this is the most crowded year ever. I think its because the fair weather outdoorsmen have made an appearance this year. wait till we get normal winter again.

RE:Picture this
this is why I fish late in the season or maybe hike 3 or 4 miles to a hole I cant stand combat fishing I will never fish the pink run on the yup ever again or silver run on the same years too many rude people. besides the hike is worth it you might see somethign you have never seen. 3 years ago I caught a glimpse of a bobcat which are a rare sight and this year I saw a black bear family. and also a great way to loose all the turkey and ham and roast weight from thanks giving and christmas....
An old man once told me that if you stick a worm on a hook drop it over the bank you can feed your self for life. I tried it modified it and geez I am beating them off with a broom now.
