I just moved to Whatcom County from Arizona and am interested in doing some freshwater fishing for trout. Can someone recommend a location and some tips on baits etc.?
Thank you kindly.

Silver lake is a good trout lake and has a place where you can rent boats. In Lynden you can stop by Daves sporting goods. The guys in there have a lot of good info to get you started.

click on "reports" then select "read reports" and then click on "freshwater lakes"...
on the freshwater lakes reports page just below all the alphabetical stuff you will see a "search" option...
type "whatcom" in the little box and all the reports ever submitted to this site in regard to freshwater lakes in whatcom county will be easy to peruse.....
not the whole story I'm sure, but a good place to start....

Fish doesn't smell "fishy" because it's fish. Fish smells "fishy" when it's rotten.
