Well I got my self armed with lighter rods with more sensitivity then what I had. More geared for steelhead. So Well see if it pays off. Who knows maybe all the time I was bouncing off them rocks I had bites the whole time and couldnt feel em. Then again Prolly not cause I knew just when they bit at the cow. I just think that the puyallup is a tough steelie river less then 50 caught in the last 2 years? thats not good odds ya know.

Alot of times I dont get more then an hour or two to fish. If I get longer I go further away. But I cant drive for an hour fish for 15 min and drive home for an hour. That dont work. My wife is kind enough to let me fish as much as I do considering she stays home with 4 kids every day with minimal breaks from them. But I will be gettin to the cow again prolly next weekend. Ill stay down there for about a 24 hour period. Maybe Ill try the green instead tomorrow. Its not far. Anyone hear anything good about it so far for steelies?

I agree. Odds aren't in your favor with your statistics. Lighter rod? Here on the Wenatchee I use a 6'6" Medium spinning with 10 lb test. Using that rod catching 6-8lb metalheads is a blast!

Hey your not alone, I too am Steelyless so far. I was hoping to beat Jens on this one, now I have to pay his round of golf, I'm going to pay for his Williams Nine holes! LOL. Maybe we need to hook up and get ours before the year ends. I might have to fish the lakes for those big trout, am I right as long as they are over 20", it is consider a steelhead?

Genetically, steelhead and rainbow are the same. Some steelhead spawn will never leave the river system, and grow up as 'rainbows' and some rainbow spawn will leave the river system and become steelhead.

They're all just dumb trout. I was scratching my head at this 8" rainbow that tried to bite my #3 Blue fox a few weeks ago on American Lake. Lure was 3x bigger than his mouth. dumb fish.

Curado how do you fish your eggs? This is my first year going for Steelhead and I have been fishing the snoqualmie and the raging rivers but no luck so far. I have seen a number of fish caught but not a thing myself. I have tried drifts fishing eggs but no luck. I was using an egg cluster and a spin corky. Do you guys think it would be better to use just eggs by itself?
