O.k., here is a high temperature war story........

While stationed at Beale AFB in Northern California, I was out on the flight line one hot August day. At about 1:00 p.m. the line chief pulled up to the B-52 I was working on and told me to button it up and come back to work and finish when the sun had set. I asked him why. "Too hot" he replied. I told him it had been too hot for months! What does the Air Force consider to be too hot, I asked.
He told me that AF regulations state that no one is suppose to be on the flight line when the air temperature on the ramp standing in the sun reaches 140º. I asked him what the temperature was........... 145º
The temperature in the shade was 121º

That's hot!#-o

Yeah I would say that 's hot. Working on a flight line in those temps would suck. I know being a gunner on humvee in Iraq when it's 148 degree was pretty bad as well. I never want to see temps like that again. Didn't help that I had full gear o nas well. Talk about taking a shower in your own sweat. :-& :thumbdown

Ft Erwin Ca. Dont recall what the temps were but they ordered us to stay in our cotts most of the day. We all worked grave yard those weeks.

Im enjoying this. Riding the bike every day. Its like a dry hot tub... kinda. Turn on some tunes when ya get home, open a cold beer. EVERYTHING gets cooked on the grill or in the microwave. Yes, I do have a window AC unit in the bedroom so Im cheating a little bit knowing I can cool off anytime I want. The bedroom has become the critters haven, the dogs and one of the cats think they live in there now...

King5.com this morning stated "Yakima will hit 1101 degrees and the Tri-Cities will top at 106."

Glad I dont live in Yakima....#-o

Got windy this morning. Getting a bit windier. A neighbor's tree just got blown over. I heard it and it sounded like a good sized tree or BIG limb.

edit: Just said on the news there are some power outages.

I woke up this morning to my house being 88 degrees. I got to work and my factory on 12th and Yesler was 96 degrees.Yesterday when I left work it was 94 degrees.I went swimming last night at a pool and the frickin water was 90 degrees (which really isnt refreshing). The heat is great. After last winter I said I wasnt gonna complain about the weather anymore. Not even Bill Gates or Paul Allen can change it.Bring on the triple digits I'm ready.Anyone whos been to the Mid East can tell you ,this is nothing.I was over in the Sinai Desert in 115 degrees.Thats hot.I know Iraq and Afganistan can get into the 120's and up. KEEP DRINKING FLUIDS EVERYONE.

I scraped the idea of sleeping in the house(WAY TO HOT), so I pitched a tent in the backyard and I am sleeping outside all week.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Finally got to 100, plus about 1/2, outside

and 90 inside.

I keep checking whenever someone else posts, but wanted to wait until it got to 100.
