Fish finder/GPS image interpretation for new user.
I have lots of dumb questions. Is there like a guide for dummies located on the web anywhere?

Yes there is, search for 'reading a depth finder'. I'll see if I can find it.

The best aproach is to go to the manufactures website and look for tutorials on the specific device. There are some generalities to reading sonar and gps but most are very sophistocated machines and as such require a bit of study to even use them to 10% of their capabilities. On top of their web sites many manufactures offer classes for using their equipment.
